Here, Vitoria SC Guimaraes was the winner, defeating FC Famalicao 1-0. Yet another very excting match was the 1-0 victory of Boavista Porto over Moreirense FC. Here, on Oddspedia, we provide you with a detailed overview and statistics of the upcoming Liga Portugal matchday in Portugal– detailed statistics forall upcoming games, the teams and their current form.
The most interesting matches from the upcoming week
A highly anticipated match will be Sporting Lisbon vs Boavista Porto on 03/17/2024 at 20:30. Sporting Lisbon has the upper hand in this match, since they are currently on the first place in the table. However, they still want to make sure to keep their rank. Both teams won their last match (Sporting Lisbon won against FC Arouca and Moreirense FC was beaten by Boavista Porto), so it will be exciting to see which one of them will play better in their upcoming clash. A look at their recent performance might shed some light on that question: Sporting Lisbon was able to win the majority of their latest matchesBoavista Porto won 2 and lost 2 of their last 5 matches.
Another match fans are looking forward to takes place on 03/17/2024 at 18:00. Here, Casa Pia Lisbon (currently in 11th place) will face SL Benfica (2nd place). Casa Pia Lisbon might be in a weaker position here, since they didn't manage to win their last match against Estrela Amadora–while Estoril Praia was beaten by SL Benfica. Looking at the teams' performance in their last matches can also be an indicator about their current form: Casa Pia Lisbon had quite a mixed performance lately. They won 2 and lost 2 of their last five games, making their performance in the upcoming match harder to guess. SL Benfica on the other hand was victorious in most of their latest games, so their chances to win might be a bit bigger.
People are also excited to see Moreirense FC fight against FC Arouca. They currently are in 6th place and 7th place, making their match interesting to watch. Both will have to step up their game and show their fans what they're made of, since none of them won their last match. You can also look at their recent performance to get an idea of their chances in the upcoming match: FC Arouca managed to be victorious in most of their recent games, winning 3 out of their last 5. Moreirense FC performed alright in their recent matches. They achieved two victories and lost 2 out of five times.

League Table - Current Season Performance
Sporting Lisbon are currently leading the table with 62 points and a goal differencial of 45 (69 scored and 24 received). So far, they have won 20 out of their 24 matches–but since they're only leading by 1 point, SL Benfica (2/61pts) could take the lead this week, if they win their match against Casa Pia Lisbon (11/27pts). Of course, Sporting Lisbon would also have to lose their match. In any case, players will give their best to help their team win. But not only the top of the table has some interesting matches to offer–teams in the lower half also have to fight hard to stay in their league and not finish the season in last place. The last place is currently occupied by GD Chaves (18/18pts) with only 18 points. Since they're already 5 points behind the last safe place, their only chance of staying in the Liga Portugal would be to make it to the relegation playoffs. If they fight hard, GD Chaves could actually stay in the league, since they're only 5 points behind Portimonense SC (15/23pts), who are in need of points to not face relegation.
The biggest positive change in position, compared to the last matchday, has been made by Boavista Porto (9/27 points), who moved up one position and are now in ninth place in the league. On the other side, FC Famalicao (8/28 points) made the biggest loss in positions, losing a total of four ranks.
