The Celtics are heavily favored coming into this series, and for good reason. Over the last two NBA playoffs, the Celtics have not seen a single series go more than five games. This team has a tough task with these fiesty Knicks, however.
The Knicks defeated the Detroit Pistons in a thrilling back-and-forth series. On the other side, the Celtics defeated the Orlando Magic in five games, and won that series rather easily. We will start with my best of three Knicks vs Celtics player props, which is going to be Jalen Brunson over 27.5 points.
Brunson has been on a historic run with his points per game in the postseason over the last few years. He’s putting up numbers we haven’t seen since the Michael Jordan days, and for the Knicks to have any chance in this game – or any game in this series – New York will need to see Brunson score at minimum 30 points every game.
Brunson scored 30 or more points in five of the six games against the Pistons and I do believe he will replicate those numbers here in this series against the Celtics. In Game 1, I expect him to come out like a bat out of hell in this spot and help this Knicks team compete. The Knicks are also a better road team, so starting in Boston I do think they will show up tonight.

Josh Hart | OVER 25.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists | -110 at FanDuel
Hart is the engine on both ends of the court for this Knicks team, and he’ll be doing a lot of his damage tonight in the transition game.
Simply put, the Knicks need his intensity on the glass. Now, I do think most of his PRA will have to come from rebounding and assists in this game, as Brunson will take the majority of the offensive workload. However, when Hart is featured in the transition game, he can get you 10-15 points, and that is exactly what we are targeting from Hart here. Kristaps Porzingis | OVER 2.5 3-pointers | +175 at FanDuel
Can the Knicks stop Porzingis and defend the perimeter? That might just be the X-Factor in this series.
Karl Anthony Towns is not the best 3-point defender – and that’s putting it nicely. I do expect Porzingis to get plenty of opportunities from 3-point land in this series. The Knicks really dont have anyone who can match up with him out there, and he does have one of the best 3-point shots for a big man in the entire league.
If the Knicks cannot contain Porzingis, they are in a ton of trouble, and I do think he will be able to get his looks. At the price of +175, I had to take a chance on this prop, as it is one of the few decently big plus-money props on the board. Porizingis can get hot early, and this can cash in the first quarter.
