Nikola needs to have a big game in this spot. He had a disappointing game for his standards in Game 2 of this series, dropping 26 points. I do believe here in Game 3 Jokic will be used more often.
It is much harder for role players to find a rhythm on the road, and the stars of the teams usually need to deliver for their teams in that spot. One thing that concerned me from Game 2 is that Jokic struggled from the free-throw line, shooting just 60%. I do not expect Jokic to have as bad of a night at the charity strip, and we should see him have more success on the offensive end in general. Jokic averaged 29.6 points per game this season, which finished third in the NBA in points per game. He’s going to need to score over 30 for the Nuggets for them to have any chance of taking this game.
Ivica Zubac | Over 12.5 rebounds | -110 at FanDuelMy second Clippers vs Nuggets prop is going to be a play on Ivica Zubac.
Zubac has been the X-factor for this Clippers team in the series, and has done a fantastic job on Nikola Jokic so far. He’ll need to continue to do that for this Clippers team to advance. Zubac averaged 12.5 rebounds in the regular season, and pulled down 12 rebounds in Game 2 on Monday night. Now that the Clippers are back at home, I do anticipate some of the Clippers numbers to slightly increase.
As you can see, we only needed him to pull one more rebound in the last game to hit tonight’s number, so we do not need a huge increase in production from Zubac. He’s been consistent as well, as Zubac did bring down 13 rebounds in the first game of this series. Let’s see a big performance out of Ivica Zubac tonight.
Kawhi Leonard | Over 25.5 points | -135 at FanDuelKawhi completely exploded in Game 2, dropping 39 points. It truly was a vintage Kawhi game, and it was really good to see him back in form competing in the playoffs.
Now that the series is moving back to LA, I do expect Kawhi to put on another big performance in front of the home crowd. The Clippers organization has been waiting for Kawhi to do this since the day they signed him years ago, but it finally does appear that Kawhi is back to playing elite basketball.
Kawhi only averaged 21 points per game during the regular season, but there is a reason the sportsbooks have jacked his line all the way up to a 25.5. He needs to be the offensive catalyst for this Clippers team for them to make a deep run in the NBA playoffs, and Kawhi knows this as well.
