We have made it to Week 3 of the NFL season, and it has already been a wild ride. We have had several injuries, shocking results, and other unexpected situations arise in the first two weeks. The good thing is, as the season progresses, we get more data and information to make betting a little bit easier.

We have our top two bets to go over in this one, and both of them are totals spots we are looking to take advantage of.

Let’s dive right into it, and the first game we are looking to exploit is going to be the New England Patriots traveling to the New York Jets. The Jets are looking to end a 14-game losing streak to Bill Belichick and his Patriots.

I am all over the under in this matchup. It is the lowest total of the week, and there’s good reason for it. Both teams’ offenses have struggled mightily early in the season. We all know the reasons for the Jets’ struggles. Just four plays into the season, the Jets lost their key addition and focal point of the offense Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles. Unfortunately for Jets fans, that means that QB Zach Wilson is back at QB for Gang Green. The Jets’ offense has only been able to average 273 yards of offense per game, and that should continue against a strong New England defense.

The Patriots have started out the season 0-2 with a pair of tough losses. The offense for the Pats also looks pedestrian to start the season and seems to be searching for an offensive identity early on. The Patriots’ offense has only been able to hit 20 points once this season, and this Jets defense is the best defense they will face so far this season.

The Jets’ offense also knows they need to limit risk and turnovers on the offensive side in a game against the Patriots. Bill Belichick thrives on making young QBs make mistakes, and this is a team he has dominated in the past. I anticipate the Jets’ offense to be stagnant and run-heavy, which will lead the Jets to play a field position battle and attempt to win this in a low-scoring battle. If the Jets want to win this game, they absolutely need to limit Zach Wilson’s turnovers, and they need to put the Patriots in bad field position starting points frequently. I also do think the Jets get the win here, but am far more confident in the under.
