NFL Week 8 betting lines

Vikings at Rams

Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell got his break after he impressed during his time with the Rams as an offensive coordinator. This battle between two of the brightest offensive minds in the sport could turn into quite the high-scoring affair.

Ravens at Browns

The AFC North is all about winning close, hard-fought matchups. The season might not be halfway over by the time these teams take the field, but every win and every loss weighs heavy at the end-of-year tally in the most competitive division in football.

Titans at Lions

The Titans made upgrades to both sides of the football during the offseason to try to be more competitive than they were a year ago. However, the Lions have one of the most potent offenses in football and should be too much for a team that’s still rebuilding.

Cardinals at Dolphins

Arizona is on the verge of a potential shift in its franchise if this year doesn’t go as planned and they look to deal Kyler Murry. Miami is in a similar position with Tua Tagovailoa but has more proof of concept and a better overall roster.

Jets at Patriots

The Patriots dominated the Jets for decades during the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era, but it’s the New Yorkers who are (going to be) favored on the NFL Week 8 spread. Aaron Rodgers believes he can win a Super Bowl and should have no problem beating the Pats if his ambitions are realistic.

Falcons at Buccaneers

The second of two matchups with the Bucs, this game will be incredibly important for the end-of-year standings. Baker Mayfield was inconsistent but pushed the ball down the field last year, so Kirk Cousins must be ready to respond in kind against a stout defense.

Bears at Commanders

Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, the top two picks in the NFL Draft, are the stars of this matchup, potentially the first of many over the course of their careers. The Bears have a talented offense and took off on defense after they traded with Washington for Montez Sweat, while Washington is in the first year of its franchise transformation under new ownership.

Packers at Jaguars

The Packers and Jags are seen as second or third-tier contenders in their respective conferences and will be tough matchups for one another. Jacksonville has more holes on defense, which means Trevor Lawrence will need to bring his A-game.

Colts at Texans

The Colts were a dropped pass in Week 18 away from likely stealing the division from Houston last year. However, the Texans spent lots of money to get better over the offseason, while Indy is more content growing at a steady pace.

Saints at Chargers

Saints coach Dennis Allen has a record of 24-46, whereas Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh is 49-22-1. That and the Chargers having the best player (Justin Herbert) are reasons to expect them to dominate the matchup.

Bills at Seahawks

Seattle might be a sneaky upset pick for NFL Week 8 spreads and moneylines. This is the weakest Buffalo team in years, and Josh Allen doesn’t have a ton of high-level playmakers around him. Seahawks coach Mike MacDonald was the architect of the Ravens’ defense last year and could scheme up a frustrating afternoon for Allen.

Eagles at Bengals

Philly and Cincy are both a couple or a few years removed from a Super Bowl appearance and have nearly all of their important pieces still intact. The Eagles were much better at the start of last year before they collapsed, but the Bengals have proven to be one of the best teams in football when Joe Burrow is healthy.

Panthers at Broncos

The Broncos are likely taking a step back from 2023 and could be one of the few teams circled by the Panthers as potential upsets. While that’s still unlikely, there could be value in taking Carolina with the points on the spread.

Chiefs at Raiders

Patrick Mahomes is 30-5 against the AFC West in his career. Vegas’ front line is strong and could put him under pressure, but there’s no reason to believe he won’t deliver with what he’s done overall and against the division.

Cowboys at 49ers

The Cowboys tried (unsuccessfully) for years to prove they were in the same echelon as the 49ers. They were embarrassed by them 42-10 in primetime last year and will have the element of revenge working in their favor, but they also had no answers in past encounters and have a worse roster this time around.

Giants at Steelers

This should be a low-scoring game between two teams with obvious offensive limitations. Pittsburgh is better from top to bottom but also lacks the ability to land a knockout blow with its current offense.

NFL Week 8 picks and predictions

The under is a sneaky play in the Bears-Commanders game. Both Williams and Daniels will feel pressured to make high-level plays to outshine their draftmate, but their combined inexperience could lead to turnovers and fewer points.

Despite our glowing review of the Chiefs, they haven’t always been great against the spread. That’s because everyone knows how incredible they are, an opinion that often inflates their spread and gives them more points than they deserve.

The 49ers own the Cowboys plain and simple. Brock Purdy torched them with the best game of his career a year ago and could be even better this time since he still has less than two years of starting experience under his belt.

The Steelers-Giants matchup is intriguing because of simple math. While Pittsburgh should also win it could be worth taking the points with the underdog if the spread is big enough, regardless of which team is favored in the NFL Week 8 spread.
