If it wasn’t for Ben Kohles epic collapse on the 18th hole, we’d have a different headline, as his bogey gifted Taylor Pendrith the chance to claim victory. Pendrith didn’t disappoint, as the Canadian birdied on the 18th, pushing him ahead of Kohles. Pendrith finished the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at -23 to win the tournament.

The favorite in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson odds, Jordan Spieth, failed to make the CJ Cup Byron Nelson cut line.

Current Favorites to win CJ Cup Byron Nelson

Jordan Spieth (+3500 at DraftKings sportsbook)

*Missed cut line

Spieth returns to the event where he debuted in 2010 as an amateur in hopes of turning his season around. Having missed the cut in three of his last five events, Spieth needs some hometown love. A runner-up in the event in 2022, Spieth comes in ranked as the highest player in the world at 20th in the world.

Si Woo Kim (+6500 at FanDuel sportsbook)

As the ninth highest ranked player in the world playing this week, it is somewhat surprising to see Si Woo Kim with such low odds to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. At 45th in the world Kim has had four career PGA Tour victories but none since the Sony Open in Hawaii in January of 2023. Kim finished tied for second here last year and briefly had a share of the lead before Day birdied the 18th hole to win.

Jason Day (+500000 at DraftKings sportsbook)

Speaking of Day, he is a definite player to look at when looking at the odds to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Having won the event last year shooting a final round 62, it allowed the Australian to win for the first time in five years on the PGA Tour. Day already has three top ten’s this season and is looking to add another CJ CUP Byron Nelson trophy to his mantle as he goes for the repeat and his third career win in the event.

Will Zalatoris (+2200 at DraftKings sportsbook)

*Withdrew from tournament due to physical pre-cautionary reasons

A player with what seems like great odds to win the CJ CUP Byron Nelson this week is Zalatoris. With already two top five finishes on his resume this year, Zalatoris enters this week in his home state in fine form. The 30th ranked golfer in the world is looking to crack into the winner’s column for just the second time in his young career after winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 2022.

Adam Scott (+60000 at FanDuel sportsbook)

A 14-time winner on the PGA Tour, however none since 2020, Adam Scott enters this week with relatively surprising low odds to win the CJ CUP Byron Nelson. The 2013 Masters champion has one top ten this season and is an impressive 26th overall in strokes gained total. Coming off a tie for 22nd at the Masters and a tie for 14th at the Valero Texas Open the week before, the Australian could be knocking on the doorstep for career win number 15.

CJ Cup Byron Nelson Longshot

Seamus Power (+50000 at DraftKings sportsbook)

*Missed cut line

A longshot pick to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson is Ireland’s Seamus Power. Power has been a fixture since the event moved to TPC Craig Ranch finishing tied for ninth in 2021, tied for 17th in 2022 and tied for 19th last year. With two career PGA Tour wins under his belt, Power will be looking to add his third this week and first since 2022 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

CJ Cup Byron Nelson betting trends

A trend to keep an eye on this week is seeing if Tom Hoge can keep up the consistency of shooting better than 70 at TPC Craig Ranch. In nine of his ten career rounds at the Texas course the American has broken the number. He finished a career best tied for 17th here in 2022.

CJ Cup Byron Nelson debutants

Jake Knapp (+250 at DrftKings sportsbook)

*Was priced at +10000 at DraftKings sportsbook when odds opened

Making his CJ Cup Byron Nelson debut, Jake Knapp is a name to keep under watch as his rookie season on tour continues to impress. Following his win earlier this season at the Mexico Open, Knapp also has a tie for third and a tie for fourth. With long odds to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Knapp could continue to impress during his stellar rookie season.
