The official schedule lists fixtures across 13 renowned cities in the United States and the games will be played in 14 stadiums.
Notable among the locations is the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, where the 2024 Copa América final will take place. Tournament structure and championship format
Most international soccer competitions are quadrennial, and the Copa America follows the same route. In other words, the tournament occurs after every four years. In the most recent years, it’s always 12 countries competing for the trophy—10 South American teams under CONMEBOL and two from invited confederations. But in 2024, the Copa America features 16 teams. The 10 CONMEBOL countries are present, and then 6 from CONCACAF complete the number.
As mentioned in the introduction, Canada is one of the CONCACAF nations that made it to the Copa America. Find out all other qualified teams below:
CONMEBOL Teams | CONCACAF Teams |
Argentina | Jamaica |
Bolivia | Mexico |
Brazil | Panama |
Chile | United States |
Columbia | Canada |
Ecuador | Costa Rica |
Paraguay | |
Peru | |
Uruguay | |
Venezuela |
Regarding qualifications, there was none for the 10 CONMEBOL teams—all are eligible by default. However, Canada and other qualified North American countries were decided through performances in the 2023-24 CONCACAF Nations League. As is the standard in soccer, the 16 teams were shared into groups of four each during the draws.
The top countries at the top of the table after the group stage automatically qualify for the quarter-finals. If you’re curious about the round of 16, there’s none, as there aren’t many teams. Another notable variance in the Copa America tournament is that there’s no extra time in the knockout stages—only the final features one.

Top 3 contenders to win Copa América 2024 - Oddspedia’s picks
You can place your Copa America 2024 picks on the country you predict will win the tournament. With Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil at the forefront, picking one team becomes challenging. There’s no argument that each side has what it takes to lift the trophy, especially with the presence of outstanding players like Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Luis Suarez. But what do the odds say? Let’s analyze them and weigh the chances of the top three contenders in the 2024 Copa America.
Argentina at the Copa América 2024 - Fixtures, squad strength & odds to win
World Cup champion Argentina have been in superb form for the past year. The team won all their matches and was defeated only once by Uruguay in November 2023. Current Copa America Odds highlights the country as the number one favorite, with the rates ranging from +173 to +175 on many Canadian betting sites. Consequently, La Albiceleste is predicted to replicate their success in the 2021 Copa America and 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Veteran players like Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria are still in superb form. At the same time, younger ones like Julian Alvarez, Enzo Fernandez, De Paul, and Paulo Dybala provide the energy and force needed in South American soccer. It’s worth highlighting that the best team in the tournament will play the opening match against Canada. Then, their subsequent group-stage matches will be against Chile and Peru.
Brazil at the Copa América 2024 - Fixtures, squad strength & odds to win
Globally, Brazil is recognized as the most talented country in terms of soccer. This is evident considering the skillful players the nation has produced over decades. In the 2024 Copa America, the team has the best squad on paper, with top stars like Neymar Jr, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Richarlison, and Gabriel Jesus.
Having lost the last Copa America final at home to Argentina, Brazil will look to lay hands on the trophy this time. Based on our analysis, the country's winning odds are between +221 and +225. Brazil are in Group D, a relatively simple group, and they’ll play Costa Rica, Paraguay, and Columbia.
Uruguay at the Copa América 2024 - Fixtures, squad strength & odds to win
The third favorite to win the Copa America in 2024 is Uruguay. Having shown promise in recent matches, the team has the potential to cause an upset and become champions ahead of Argentina and Brazil. Their odds of winning is +500 on average.
Uruguay are the lone team to defeat Argentina in 2023, which is highly notable. The team has Luis Suarez on the front as captain, plus other vibrant players like Darwin Núñez and Federico Valverde. Panama, Bolivia, and the hosts USA are the opponents they’ll face in the group stage.
