How we rate and review crypto betting sites
As you would expect, given that our entire website is centred around leveraging data to improve your sports betting experience, our ratings for crypto betting sites and bookmakers are very much based on numbers and objective analysis.
Each crypto betting site featured on Oddspedia will undergo our rigorous scoring system, which features over 100 data points across 10 key criteria. We employ experts in a specific field and gather real user feedback to help score betting sites across factors such as offers, experience, value, crypto options, betting coverage, customer service, security, player protection, and much more.
We ensure that hours are spent using each crypto betting site that we review, with our highly experienced team collating data and noting feedback for each of our key criteria. There is then a final assessment and validation of data before providing our score. Because we use the same rating system for every crypto bookmaker review, we can guarantee that we will always produce a fair and unbiased score.
Why trust Oddspedia?
Oddspedia has almost 20 years of experience in the sports betting industry and has always been at the forefront of crypto betting. We have reviewed over 200 bookmakers, placed over 45,000 bets across our in-house team, and built one of the biggest betting communities online. We use our global network of bettors and a team of proven experts to help determine what people look for in a good sports betting experience.
Our position of authority within the industry means we can be 100% fair and give a completely unbiased view of the service bookmakers provide, as well as the value they offer to sports bettors. Our success has been, and always will be, built on working with real sports fans and bettors, listening to what they have to say, and using that information to give as much back as we can to the sports betting community.
What makes a good crypto betting site?
If you’re looking to find the best crypto-betting sites, there are a few important factors that you need to consider. I have provided a list of things that I consider below. It’s hard to find a crypto bookmaker that excels in every single area, but obviously, some of them are absolute must-haves.
Security
Wherever I play, safety and security are my two most important factors. If a site is not safe, I will not use it. You should have this same mentality. If a crypto betting site feels off and has overwhelmingly bad reviews, you shouldn’t risk it.
Licensing
One way to tell if a site is safe is if it has a licence. The best crypto bookmakers should have licences from respectable jurisdictions and be accredited by well-known industry authorities.
App
The best crypto bookmakers should have an app available to download on iOS and Android devices. Because of some countries’ gambling laws, this is not always possible. At a minimum, a crypto bookmaker should have a great mobile sports betting site.
Usability
A crypto betting site could have great odds and sports betting features, but if it’s hard to use, I’ll probably use a different site instead. How easy it is to find bets, place wagers, and make withdrawals all strongly affect how I rate crypto bookmakers.
Reputation
I love finding and trying out new crypto sites. After all, reviewing them is what I do for a living. However, I’m always cautious of sites that have absolutely no reputation. If you want the best crypto betting experience, stick with the well-known sites with big reputations and lots of player reviews.
Available cryptocurrencies
Most of us will just use a few cryptocurrencies and not deviate from those. However, it’s nice to have options. The more options available, the better the crypto bookmaker site.
Exchange rates
Crypto prices change by the second. Betting sites all have different ways of measuring the exchange rate to account for this. The best betting sites are the ones that give you the most bang for your buck.
Fees
One of the major selling points of using cryptocurrency is the low transaction fees. Any crypto sports betting site charging high fees immediately erases that advantage. I always look for sites with no transaction fees.
Payment methods
I play at crypto betting sites because I want to use cryptocurrency. It’s nice to have other options, though. If a crypto betting site allows you to use fiat currency and other payment methods, that’s usually a good sign about the overall bookmaker quality.
Bonuses and promotions
The top crypto betting sites should reward you for playing with them. This means offering a generous welcome bonus and other promo offers to keep you coming back for more.
Customer support
Hopefully things never go wrong with your crypto sports betting site account, but if something does go wrong, you are going to want fast and reliable customer support that you can go to for help.
How to bet at a crypto betting site
Ready to start betting with crypto? Here’s a guide to make getting started as easy as possible for you:
1. Choose a cryptocurrency wallet
Before you can start betting with crypto, you need to buy crypto. To do that, you need a crypto wallet. You can create an account with any top exchange to get your new wallet. I personally prefer Coinbase, so I have outlined the steps for using that platform below. However, it will be a similar process with other wallets.
2. Buy cryptocurrency
Once you have your account set up, head to the exchange platform and buy your preferred crypto. I recommend starting with one of the big, reliable coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum.
3. Register with your preferred crypto-betting site
Review the list of the best crypto betting sites and pick your which one you want to start with. Obviously if you want to take advantage of different welcome bonuses, you can sign up to multiple sites.
Then, head to the website, click “Sign Up” or “Register,” and create your account. This is as simple as filling out a sign-up form with some basic information about yourself.
4. Deposit
Select deposit and your preferred cryptocurrency. Then, copy the wallet address provided by your crypto-betting site. Go back to your crypto wallet and select how much crypto you want to send. Finally, paste the bookmaker wallet address into your wallet and send it.
5. Place your bet
Once you send your crypto from your wallet, it should show up in your betting site account in less than an hour. As soon as it hits your account, you can start betting. Pick your favourite market, select a bet you like, enter your wager amount, and place your bet.

Accepted coins at crypto betting sites
Whether you’re new to crypto sports betting or you’ve been doing it for years, it’s important to make sure that the cryptocurrency you have is accepted at the betting site you are looking to bet with. Below is a list of the most commonly accepted cryptocurrencies for sports betting.
Bitcoin
Founded in 2009, Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency. Even your crypto-illiterate grandparents have probably heard of it. Because it’s so popular, you can use Bitcoin at pretty much every crypto-betting site.
Ethereum
Behind Bitcoin, Ethereum is the second most popular cryptocurrency in the world. While Bitcoin is used more as a strict currency, Ethereum has more uses for smart contracts and other Web3 applications. Despite the differences, Ethereum is just as popular as Bitcoin at crypto bookies.
Litecoin
Litecoin may not be very well known, but it’s actually almost as old as Bitcoin. This cryptocurrency prides itself on speed. If you’re looking for fast transactions, Litecoin may be the coin for you.
Dogecoin
Dogecoin made waves as the first popular “meme coin.” The bubble has burst on DOGE in recent years, but it’s still very popular. You can buy DOGE at most major exchanges. Most of the best crypto bookmakers also accept Dogecoin.
Bitcoin Cash
Bitcoin Cash is a spin-off from Bitcoin that launched in August 2017. Practically speaking, the coins aren’t much different. The biggest crypto betting sites usually accept both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
Monero
Monero’s selling point to users is its extreme privacy technology. While other coins pride themselves on being 100% transparent, Monero incorporates data protection technology to make transactions untraceable. Not a lot of crypto sports betting sites accept Monero, which is a shame since privacy is a major reason to play at crypto sites.
ZCash
ZCash is another coin that prioritises privacy. Like Monero, It ensures completely anonymous transactions by using encryption technology to make the data untrackable. However, like Monero, ZCash is not widely accepted by crypto bookies.
Ripple
Ripple is a unique cryptocurrency. Created in 2012 by Ripple Labs, its founders set out to make a better crypto than Bitcoin. Today, it might be the third most popular coin on the market, but it’s not bigger than Bitcoin. Not yet, at least. However, Ripple is very fast.
Dash
Dash is yet another popular coin that prioritises anonymity above all. This coin is cheap, reliable, and fast. Unfortunately, it’s not widely accepted at most crypto-betting sites.
Tron
Tron is one of the newest cryptos that we’re going to discuss here. Founded in 2019, this coin quickly earned lots of fans. Because it has so many Web3 applications, it’s more like Ethereum than Bitcoin.
Fiat currencies accepted at crypto betting sites
Crypto betting sites are defined as being bookmakers that allow you to use cryptocurrencies. That doesn’t mean they only accept crypto, though. Many of the best crypto bookmakers also allow you to fund your account using fiat currency.
Stake.com, for example, lets you buy cryptocurrency directly on its betting site. You can use Apple Pay, Visa, MasterCard, Interac, and other popular payment methods to buy cryptocurrency from Stake.com.
Bitcoin sports betting bonuses
All of the best crypto betting sites will offer bonuses. That could be something extra for signing up, or a reward for being a loyal customer. These are obviously a great way to get more out of your crypto betting. Below is a breakdown of the types of sports betting bonuses you can expect from crypto bookmakers.
Sign up bonuses
Almost every top crypto bookmaker rewards you for signing up and creating an account. These welcome bonuses vary greatly from site to site, so be sure to read the terms and conditions closely. Reading guides and reviews from Oddspedia and other players can also be really helpful when deciding which sign up bonus to claim.
Another thing to keep in mind is that sign-up bonuses are almost never free. Besides no deposit bonuses, which I’ll discuss very soon, you have to make a deposit to claim a sign up bonus.
Free bets
Have you ever seen a bonus advertising something like “Bet $5, Get $200”? If so, you have seen an example of free bets. In this example, you will get $200 in free bets from just a $5 bet. Most offers aren’t quite that generous, but the principle is the same. Free bets are essentially extra bonus credits bookmakers give you to incentivise you to bet.
As I said above, despite the name, these still aren’t technically free bet. That’s because to unlock the $200 in this example, you have to spend $5 of your own money. Still, it’s a great deal that’s hard to pass up.
Most free bets come from sign-up bonuses. You can also claim them through cashback, no deposit, reload and reload bonuses or via a VIP program.
Matched deposit bonus
To incentivise you to invest early, many betting sites will match your first deposit. The 1xBet and 22Bet welcome bonuses are great examples of this. Both bookmakers will match 100% of your first deposit. Some sites, like BC.Game, go above and beyond that. BC.Game will match 180% of your first deposit.
Match deposit bonuses are mostly offered as sign up bonuses, but many sites also offer weekly and weekend reload bonuses, in which they will reward you by matching your deposits on certain days.
No-deposit bonus
As I mentioned earlier, you need to spend money to claim most betting site bonuses. The only time this is different is if the bonus is a no-deposit bonus. To claim no deposit bonuses, all you need to do is sign up.
Because no investment is involved, no-deposit bonuses are typically smaller and/or have more restrictive terms and conditions than other crypto betting site bonus offers.
Reload bonus
Reload bonuses reward you for topping up your crypto betting site account. These bonuses typically reward you for depositing more than a set minimum limit during a specific period. For example, many betting sites have weekend reload offers which reward you for depositing Friday-Sunday.
What precisely the reward is varies by site. Some sites will match 100% or a portion of your deposit. Others will give you a flat amount of free bets.
VIP programmes
One of the easiest ways to earn free bets and special bonus offers at crypto bookmakers is by taking part in the site’s VIP program. These loyalty programs are usually open to everyone, which means you can start earning rewards as soon as you start betting.
However, it would be best if you kept in mind that some of these programs are really only useful to high rollers. Take the Stake.com VIP program, for example. You have to wager $10,000 to enter the lowest tier of the Stake VIP program.
Crypto betting vs traditional fiat currency betting
On the face of things, there are a few differences between crypto betting and traditional fiat currency betting. When you dive deep into crypto betting, though, it becomes clear that there are some pretty significant differences.
The main difference is obviously the currency used. At fiat currency betting sites, you have to use fiat currency–such as dollars, Euros, pounds, etc. With crypto betting sites, you fund your account using Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other cryptocurrencies. Many also let you use fiat currency, though, so, in general, crypto-betting sites allow more payment methods.
Another significant difference is the actual betting markets available. Crypto bookies tend to have more unique markets than fiat currency betting sites. This means more player props, alternative lines, and other unique bets for major sports and more bets in general for minor sports. Esports, for example, tend to have much bigger betting markets at crypto betting sites than more traditional fiat bookmakers.

Advantages of using crypto betting sites
If you’ve made it this far and are still unsure about whether crypto betting is for you, here are some advantages of using crypto bookmakers compared to traditional fiat currency bookmakers.
Enhanced privacy
If you care about keeping a low profile on the internet, you should be using cryptocurrency. When you send crypto, your name is not attached to the transaction, and therefore, your financial information is at less risk of being exposed. When it comes to anonymity, there’s not even a contest between fiat currency and crypto.
Fast transactions
Another area where fiat currency needs to catch up to crypto is speed. Credit and debit card transactions and bank transfers can take days to process. Almost every crypto transaction you ever make will be processed in less than a few hours. This means you can make deposits faster at crypto sites. More importantly, though, it means you can withdraw your winnings almost instantly.
Less restrictions
Crypto-betting sites tend to have less harsh rules than fiat currency betting sites. Of course, they still have to follow the laws and verify your identity. However, I’ve found that crypto sites are less likely to throttle players’ accounts, freeze assets, and/or bank players after big wins.
Increased security
Like with the increased anonymity advantage, crypto has the advantage of being decentralised, which means your information is more secure. As long as you keep your crypto wallet information private and don’t accidentally send money to the wrong account, there’s no way for someone to take money out of your account without your permission.
Disadvantages of using crypto betting sites
Now that I’ve discussed the advantages, it’s only fair that I also discuss the disadvantages.
Volatile prices
If you know anything about cryptocurrency, you know that prices swing rapidly. This is less of an issue for major coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. However, if you are using smaller or less resilient coins, such as DOGE, you could lose almost all the value of your crypto overnight.
Fewer regulations
One of the downsides to being decentralised is that there is no one looking out for you. Banks and traditional financial institutions have to abide by specific rules. Some laws help you get your money back if they don’t follow the rules. These laws don’t always apply to crypto companies.
Learning curve
As I explained earlier in this article, betting with crypto is a very straightforward process. However, it is more complex than betting with fiat currency. Getting used to crypto terms, how exchanges work, and crypto exchange rates all make betting with crypto more difficult than betting with fiat currency.
Security risks
As much as a lot of crypto fans try to deny it, the world of cryptocurrency is full of scammers. If you’re not careful, you could end up having your wallet cleaned out by a bad actor. Because the market is decentralised, the chances of you getting your money back are almost nonexistent.
Don’t get me wrong—you will probably be fine, but security is something you have to think about once you start buying crypto.
Responsible online gambling
Whether you’re betting with crypto or fiat currency, you should have responsible gambling on your mind when you play. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, don’t chase, and avoid emotional bets. These tips can help you make your money go further and can help you maintain a positive mental well-being. If you’re having trouble sticking to your budget, you can do what I do and set limits on your account. Most top bookmakers allow you to set spending, wager, and time limits for yourself.
