An expert’s opinion on Tipico
I have to say that I am very impressed with what Tipico has to offer. It has taken a big step to throw its hat in the ring and compete with huge brands like FanDuel and DraftKings. It is by no means there yet, but Tipico has the potential to build on the progress it is making and become one of the most popular choices for bettors in the states it can operate in.
No live streaming and a lack of coverage across the US is the obvious downside when it comes to Tipico’s offering, but they give customers a top quality welcome bonus and some of the best odds in the industry - the two most important factors for any sportsbook in my opinion.
Tipico isn’t my primary online sports betting site, purely because the likes of BetMGM and FanDuel have the capacity to offer more depth across all betting markets and top up my account with the odd bonus bet or bet insurance offer. However, when I’m on the lookout for value, I often find myself placing some of my most important sports bets at the Tipico sportsbook.

Tipico betting coverage
Tipico offers a wide selection of sports to bet on and a variety of markets to do so. Popular leagues such as the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and major soccer leagues are available as well as niche sports such as darts, rugby, and tennis to name a few. Bet types include futures, parlays, same game-parlays, in-play betting, spreads, teasers, prop bets, totals, and round robins.
Does Tipico offer good odds?
The value provided by its odds is definitely one thing that stands out about the Tipico sportsbook. Other brands in the industry may use white label providers to create the odds and manage liability (updating the odds in real-time), whereas Tipico has developed advanced systems in-house to help refine its odds and offer customers better value.
If you’re new to betting, getting -103 on a total instead of -105, -110, or even -120 might not seem like a big deal. But for more serious sports bettors, this provides a huge edge and reason enough to open up a Tipico account. That’s because over the course of a season, if you’re getting the best value NFL odds, MLB odds, or whatever markets you bet on, you could be banking an extra 20%+ profit.
The quality of its odds is one of the key reasons you see Tipico feature so highly in the list of best NFL betting sites, best NBA betting sites, and many other sports.
You could argue that the investment and resource into providing the best possible odds is what hinders Tipico’s ability to offer better bonuses to existing customer. I don’t think that’s the case though; the sportsbook seems to have found a great balance between catering to beginner bettors with its fantastic welcome offer, and more serious bettors with the quality of its odds.
What sports can you bet on at Tipico?
There are more than 30 different sports to bet on at the Tipico sportsbook. You’re sure to find every major sport such as NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and all major soccer leagues available. Other popular sports like tennis, golf, MMA, and boxing are regularly available, with markets for more niche options often appearing in the sportsbook menu as well.
What markets are available at Tipico?
Tipico does an awesome job of providing an array of leagues within a specific sport – not just the most popular. Basketball is a good example of this. There are tons of betting opportunities available for NBA odds, but Tipico also offers NBL, NCAA, Euroleague, FIBA World Cup, and WNBA odds. If you’re a football fan, Tipico offers the NFL alongside the CFL and NCAAF.
What are the different bet types at Tipico?
There’s a plethora of bet types offered through the Tipico sportsbook. More popular bet types such as point spreads, totals, and moneylines are always available. Tipico also has in-depth bet types such as futures, parlays, same game-parlays, live betting, spreads, teasers, prop bets, totals, and round robins.
What is live betting like at Tipico?
Tipico offers users the chance to engage in live betting on various sports, providing a fairly robust live betting experience with numerous markets. The odds are consistently favorable, and there is minimal delay when placing live bets.
However, one aspect that could see improvement is the depth of markets available for live betting on Tipico. While standard options like spreads, totals, and moneylines are readily available, users may sometimes find it challenging to locate derivative markets that remain popular, such as team totals or props markets.

Sort by:You can say what you want about Tipico, but the site's offering is good. It should be clear to every customer that the non-collected betting tax is passed on to the bets, but it makes things a lot easier. The betting offer is OK, but I personally don't have enough options in tennis. Tipico surprises you every now and then with a free bet and a reload bonus. The bonus conditions have low minimum odds, so it's easy to unlock the bonus. I also like the auto-cashout function.
Tipico app detailed review
Once you have downloaded the Tipico app, you will find live betting, promotions, boosted odds, as well as a clearly laid out bet slip that pulls up on screen once you start loading up your selections. It’s also very easy to hide the bet slip if you want to see more of the sportsbook menu to begin building a parlay.
There’s a left to right scroll option of today’s games that allows you to stay on the home page while finding the game of your preference. Directly below, you’ll find in-season major league sports that present as a left to right scroll feature also. Typical of most sportsbooks, sporting events are laid out with more mature betting markets accessible such as spreads, totals, and moneylines. Just one click provides dozens of additional in-depth markets for that same game.
If you've read my FanDuel sportsbook review, you'll know how high the bar is set for any betting app in the US. That said, the Tipico sportsbook app really impressed me in terms of speed and performance, changing from screen to screen with no complications. The combination of the white background and navy blue font gives it a pop that makes the text easily digestible. There is a dark mode included in settings for your viewing preference as well.
One downside of the Tipico app is that it doesn’t offer live streaming which is a bummer if you want to watch the action or track your live wagers as it unfolds. Obviously you might already have a subscription to watch the games you want but sportsbooks will earn extra points for offering live streaming, as highlighted in Oddspedia’s BetMGM sportsbook review.

Tipico reputation
The Tipico name doesn’t hold the same weight as the likes of Caesars, DraftKings, and FanDuel, but these brands have had a 20-plus year head start on the German-based sportsbook. Tipico has been live in the US for a little over three years and in that short period, it has already established a credible reputation that continues to grow. Thanks, in part, from the experience and expertise it brings from operating across Europe over the last two decades.
Tipico Sportsbook was founded in 2004 and is a European sports gambling company that’s continued its expansion across the globe. As the leading sports betting platform in Germany, Tipico provides tremendous sports betting experiences for bettors in over six countries, including the US, on both the Tipico sportsbook website and Tipico betting app. Notable partners include the NFL, MLS, MLB, and the Bungdesliga (premier German soccer league) among others.

Tipico review conclusion
To conclude this Tipico review, if you’re looking to add to your sportsbook portfolio then downloading the Tipico sportsbook app and creating an account is definitely a wise move. Tipico might not be a household name in the sports betting industry but this could change as it continues expanding its coverage area by obtaining more licenses in different states. This will most likely increase its user base and popularity of the platform.
Adding a few key features such as live streaming and more markets will provide value to its current product, especially when the odds offered are already so appealing. You’ll always be able to find all major sports leagues to bet on and it’s highly likely that you’ll enjoy the Tipico app to make convenient wagers.
Last but not least, don’t forget to take advantage of the generous welcome bonus for new customers at Tipico. You can get $200 back in bet credits with a $50 deposit, as well as $500 in protected bets (depending on the state you live in).
